What keeps a seal sticking to something ? Why does the Seal of the Spirit stick to Saints ? Seals adhere. They stick . They stay . Unless removed or broken , or if something causes the stickiness to be degraded. What is it that causes the Seal of the Holy Spirit to adhere to the Christian ? The Spirit being present within IS the Seal . Does the Seal stick to my corrupt , mortal human flesh ? No . The Spirit has no affinity for corruption . Does the Seal of the Spirit stick to my sin or iniquity ? Silly . Again , NO . What does the bible say about the seal of the Spirit ?
Here is Ephesians 1 : 12 – 14 :
12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
We have the adhering Seal of the Spirit because we are permeated by the cleansing Blood .
After believing , we were sealed in Christ with the Holy Spirit of promise . We must be in Christ to be sealed like this . Covered with the Blood of Jesus . Washed by the Blood ! It is precisely because we are washed with the Blood that we are in Christ . Saved by grace through faith , God applies the Blood to us and we are cleansed . It is the cleansing Blood of Christ permeating us that allows the Spirit of God to adhere . To seal us unto the day of redemption ! See 2 Corinthians 1: 21 – 22 :
21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
Also Ephesians 4 : 30 :
30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
All of this is great reason to reverence the Blood and the Spirit of God ! Without the Blood , what else do I have that the Spirit would adhere to by indwelling ? Nothing !!! The bible lets me know that my righteousness is like filthy rags to God .
You see, when people fall away from Christ and lose salvation , they experience catastrophic loss of Seal ! Sounds like an engine problem ! But the reality is, that they have destroyed for themselves their access to the Blood of Jesus Christ . Thus, there is nothing left to cause the Seal of the Spirit to adhere to them ! The Spirit is not destroyed of course . But the cleanliness that the Spirit had an affinity for is undone . The bond that kept the Seal in that person is no more . See Hebrews 10: 26 – 31 :
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, ( Greek : koine ; profane ) and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Who is ” we ” ? Nobody but the Christian . One specifically who has trampled and depreciated the Blood. One who spoke it with his mouth and really meant it in his heart . One offended and deceived, more than likely . Maybe blinded by pain . The fearful expectation of judgment in a person who knows he has lost the Spirit of God . Not in one who never had Him and doesn’t know what he is missing ! Remember that the book of Hebrews cannot exclude the Christian Hebrew ! And gentile Christians have been grafted in to Christ !
This is why the Deadly Factors I’ve written about are dangerous to the misinformed, the deceived , the ignorant , ungrateful , offended , etc . We must avoid forsaking Christ in our hearts to turn to the love of carnality . See 2 Pet 2 : 20 – 21 . Or by rejecting Christ by shipwreck ( death ) of our faith; See 1 Tim 1: 19 . We must carefully consider to always reverence the Blood of Christ by thought, word and deed . To reject Christ for any reason is to turn once again to the life and ways of a sinner , and to put Christ lower than a sinner . We must never forget that this makes The Blood of Christ lower than a sinner’s blood . This is a lie that God can only judge ; there is NO way for God to bring The Blood to bear upon sin that profanes … The Blood ! We must consider the implications of our words and attitudes and actions . Are we hearing the voice of the enemy ? Are we listening ? Do we even recognize the voice of the enemy ? We need the mind of Christ ! And to be free of bondages and strongholds associated with the Deadly Factors ! In the absence of our own killing sin, NOTHING can take the Seal of the Spirit from us . We can potentially do that to ourselves by misuse of the free human will. No wonder that Ephesians 4 : 30 cautions not to grieve the Spirit of God in mentioning His Seal in us !
No, I do not mean to portray that we break the Spirit of God . But we sure can break His favorable involvement with us ! We can break salvation itself, by foolish misuse of the God – given , free human will . I will to always reverence the Godhead and the Blood . By word , thought, attitude, implication, action and deed . I crossed the line with God, with ONE foot only . I learned things there . Never again ! I was restored after months of horror . The vessel marred upon the potter’s wheel . Now re – formed to another purpose . To help our Beloved Abba retain His Kids !
It is a long story, but for 2 years I believed I had lost my salvation, then I believe it has been revealed to me that I never really had it and have since become ineligible for a variety of reasons. This has been my horror for almost 5 years, that I am a predestined child of wrath and that I fell for the seduction of hyper-grace. I have also since learned of the evil and wickedness underlying this society. Perhaps I can be a warning to others in these end-times though I am so full of regret for losing the life I thought God had prepared for me (to the point of suicide).
Dear Sister , Thanks for writing in . There is much that your comments make me wonder . I cannot know if you were saved before or if you ever lost salvation . I do know that it is a favorite thing for the devil’s boys to do , to torment someone into thinking they lost their salvation . I have been there before , and was just backslidden . I repented and was able to come back into fellowship with God . I also know the rage of the Holy Spirit and the terror of the Lord . I much prefer the fear of God ! Figuratively , I’ve had one leg over the rim of hell . No boast . Just understanding .
I see nothing in the Bible that tells me that God pre – destined anyone to His wrath . But I do see that He is unwilling that any should perish . Just believing in hyper grace ideas does not condemn a person . Believing so does not mean that a person has blasphemed the Holy Spirit or depreciated and rejected the Blood of Jesus Christ . It would take some pretty strong and focused blasphemy directly against the Spirit of God , or pointedly cursing and despising the Blood , expressed to God , to perhaps make someone unable to get saved . Perhaps some satanists may have done such .
I lean toward the opinion that if you think there are a ” variety of reasons ” why you are ineligible for salvation, that the father of lies – satan – has been feeding you some of his best stuff . This sounds like condemnation . And Christ did not come into the world to condemn it . My own eligibility for salvation was that I was a card – carrying sinner . How’s THAT for eligible ! So, I do not know your reasons . I do encourage you to connect with a good Christian Pastor, and Women’s ministry in a Bible – believing church . You need compassion, not judgmentalism , in a church that speaks the truth in love .
Please do know that any idea of suicide does not originate with you . This comes from the enemy , and you should not take ownership of those thoughts . Please do call a trusted friend or family member and share this where you can do so safely . If nothing else , call a crisis line in your area . It sounds to me like the devil’s boys are afraid of your potential, because they know what God can do with you !
You do need to proactively make sure you sincerely pray to receive Christ as your Savior . Like the rest of us . And not some loose prayer that does not even mention sin . Some prayers for salvation that I hear on television make it sound like , ” Ok, Jesus . I receive you , and thank you I am now a Christian . ” No mention of sin ! Jesus came to pay a very bloody price for my sin and iniquity , to purchase my sin – debt . Then I can know Him as all the Divine He is , and the best friend ever , as I ask His forgiveness, His salvation, and that He be my Lord and Savior living in my heart forever . Born of a virgin . Lived perfect . God come in the flesh . Risen again . THAT gets it done !

She really needs to expand on this, as she might well be under misapplication of understanding . . . . there is nothing in the message to say her salvation should be lost!
