Unforgivable sin is possible for ANY human . Those in hell wish they had understood all about this BEFORE getting there ! I almost went to hell . No joke ! I barely left God enough room to restore me . After God taught me a LARGE lesson , He took me to school in writing this blog . There remains a responsibility to share things learned so others may benefit . Being fortified , let us fortify others . God deserves to keep ALL of His kids ! How can we characterize the dynamics of unforgivable sin ? What is the essence of this kind of sin , and why can’t God do anything with it but to judge it ? We need to look at things from His point of view as best we can , for He cannot deny Himself , and there are two sides to THAT coin !
God hates issuing judgment that sends souls made in His Beautiful Image into eternal fire . But , sin that creates just this kind of impasse with God is possible for both saints and the lost , and even for angels ! For humans there are two general types of sin ! And the devil does NOT want people knowing about THAT ! Unforgivable Sin Forces God to Demonstrate that He Cannot Deny Himself
Let’s review 2 tim 2 : 12 – 13 in the MEV :
12 If we endure,
we shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.
Denying God ; rejecting Him , makes Him lower than a sinner . It profanes Him .
We are the sinners , not God . There is NO reason for Him to deny Himself ! In fact , Christ says in Matthew 16 : 24 -25 :
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
As sinners , it is for us to deny , or repudiate , OUR sinful ways , and to receive Christ from the heart as Savior . To ask His forgiveness for sins , to give Him our hearts , to make Him Lord ; and to make Him our headship ! Increasingly rare in a world of self indulgence !
Colossians 2:8 – 10 MEV :
8 Beware lest anyone captivate you through philosophy and vain deceit, in the tradition of men and the elementary principles of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in Him lives all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all authority and power.
So , first we must be sure we have believed in Christ as Lord and Savior , AND received Him as such , giving our hearts in surrender to Him . Notice the answer given by the apostle Peter after he and John had prayed in the Name of Christ in Acts chapter 4 for a man’s healing !
Acts 4: 10 – 12 MEV
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands before you whole. 11 He is
‘the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the cornerstone.’[a]
12 There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
So , how does this relate to the topic of unforgivable sin ? Like this : There are unbelievers . There are believers who are ” unreceivers ” of Christ . Even satan and his demons know and believe who Jesus is ! ( See Right HERE ) There are Saints who come to the point of rejecting Christ from the heart . All of the above REJECT Christ from the heart ! They deny Christ . Realize that a believer may not have received Christ , but the receiver of Christ has surely FIRST believed in Christ !
See John 1: 11-13 regarding Christ :
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God
You cannot ” out – faithful ” God . He is more faithful than ANY man !
See 1 Corinthians 1 : 9 MEV :
9 God is faithful, and by Him you were called to the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Those who believe and receive Christ and never quit Him will have salvation forever . God cannot deny that He is faithful in character to uphold salvation for any who stay with Him . But the OTHER side of that coin is THIS :
Those who reject Christ their whole lives even to the grave , or who believe and receive Christ but later reject Him from the heart , make the ways , person and life of Christ lower than those of a sinner . And part of Christ was His Blood . Part of the sinner is the sinner’s blood . This profanes Christ’s Blood from the heart , ( Heb 10 : 29 , Greek ; koinos ) , making Christ’s Blood lower than sinner’s blood , resulting in eternal fire for those who carry this to the grave , profaning God into eternity ; as well as destruction of salvation for the Christian who does this type of sin from the heart . Unforgivable Sin Creates a Situation Where God Cannot Release Grace Without Becoming a Liar
God can NEVER lie ! There is not the first atom of a lie in Him or His Word !
Numbers 23 : 19 MEV
19 God is not a man, that He should lie,
nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He spoken, and will He not do it?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
1 Samuel 15 : 29 MEV
29 Also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent. For He is not a man, that He should repent.”
And John 14: 6 MEV
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
So , for the one who commits unforgivable sin – rejecting Christ , blaspheming the Holy Spirit directly , or ultimate refusal to forgive – God is blocked from releasing grace for it . Such sin makes Him lower than a sinner – indeed lower than a LIAR , and if He were to accept that assessment and ” just forgive anyway ” , He would become a liar and corrupt Himself ! He cannot make himself as though worse than a sinner ! Of course , lying is sin , and the Bible says :
Ezekiel 18 : 4 MEV
4 All souls are Mine. The soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins shall die.
Are you getting this ? Christ , in dying physically on the cross , did all the dying that God ever could for us ! God’s soul shall NOT die ! For the soul that dies has sinned ! And so, Saints are scarcely saved in the first place ! Look at 1 Peter 4: 17 – 19 MEV !
17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God, and if it begins first with us, what shall the end be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And
“If the righteous one is scarcely saved,
where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”[a]
19 So then, let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator, while continuing to do good.
Thus , the impasse of unforgivable sin is that God cannot become a liar , or He would become corrupt and His Soul would die. Yes , God has a soul ! We are in HIS image ! Personally , I LIKE that the All – Powerful Person ruling the creation is also GOOD ! Who wants an almighty , infinite DEMON in charge ? It shall never be !
Unforgivable Sin Forces God to Demonstrate that He Cannot Profane Himself
In Hebrews 10 : 29 , there are those who count The Blood of Christ as common . The Greek word here is koinos , which means profane :
29 How much more severe a punishment do you suppose he deserves, who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded the blood of the covenant that sanctified him to be a common thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace ?
Though there are many who profane God – even some Christians – God cannot be in agreement with this . Are you seeing how this all works together ? God cannot lie . He cannot deny Himself , or He lies . He cannot profane Himself , or He lies . The notion that God could EVER lie is a lie !
For those who profane Christ’s Blood , what shall God do ? Shall He make Himself lower than sin and the sinner , just to accommodate this type of sin ? NO ! Lower than a sinner would have to be especially filthy . And God is always Holy .
We need to remember that in order to save in the first place , God’s salvation does NOT come up from below the level of a sinner ! God’s salvation comes down from on high ! VERY high ! And He reaches DOWN , WAY DOWN , to effect our salvation ! The peril for the one who commits unforgivable sin is double : Profaning Christ’s Blood which could have cleansed them , and rejecting God as well . It is the ultimate insult delivered to the Ultimate Majesty , Holiness , and Dignity . It brings the ultimate punishment , for that kind of sin hangs in eternity FOREVER as an insult , affront and injury against the Most High and Only God ! Thus , the punishment is also eternal . Or else , that TOO would introduce a lie !
God is NOT being mean to judge unforgivable sin . He is being God . He is being the ONLY thing He CAN be ; Perfect , Blazingly Holy , True , Authentic God . Always . He cannot be less than Holy ; He cannot be less than True . He IS truth ! He is being the Truth ! It bears saying more than once !
Unforgivable Sin Leaves God NO Latitude to Bring The Cleansing Blood of Christ to Bear
Check Heb 6: 4 – 6 MEV :
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 if they fall away, to be renewed once more to repentance, since they AGAIN crucify to themselves the Son of God and subject Him to public shame.
See ? For the saint who had been indwelt by the Holy Spirit and then comes to the point of rejecting Christ – If His Blood was not good enough for them the FIRST time – there is no second chance ! So too for the lost who reject Christ their whole life . Without faith , it is impossible to please God ! See Hebrews 11 : 6 !
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Dying without faith in Christ is rejecting Him .
As this is getting redundant , let’s conclude . I’m not trying to win a Pulitzer here ( No danger of that happening ) . I’m trying to keep people out of fire . Precious people !
If you are a saint indwelt by the Holy Spirit and you are drifting so far into carnality that you are not in touch with God any more , you are in the danger zone . Going so far as to forsake Christ from the heart is deadly . Repent and paddle back close to God as hard as you can ! Get help ! Get in a good church that preaches the truth about sin but without condemnation ! Get good , spiritual Christian friends and get tight with them ! Stay that way !
If you are one who has no religion , or who is religious but has never professed faith in Christ and received Him as Lord and Savior , or has believed in Christ but never committed to receive and keep Him , Pray the following industrial strength , heavy duty prayer for salvation . Say it aloud to God with sincerity . He hears , and He wants to save all ! You can also search online for the ” Romans road ” scriptures before praying . Do not be fooled into praying some light prayer for salvation that does not reckon with sin !
Dear God : I confess that I am a sinner . I know that you sent your only begotten Son Jesus , born of a virgin , to come to this world to bear my sins on the cross and pay my sin debt . I know that Jesus is Divine , and He lived a holy life representing humanity in human flesh . I believe that after dying for my sins on the cross , that Christ rose again the third day following , and has now ascended to Glory . I know he is coming again to earth to rule and reign . Jesus , I accept your payment for my sins . I believe you are God the Savior , and I receive you . I commit to be yours forever . Please come into my heart ; forgive me for my sins and iniquities . I repent from them . I curse and renounce my every sin and iniquity . Cleanse me with your Holy Blood that you gave for me . Give me the Holy Spirit to live in me forever to help me be more and more like you . I give you my heart ! I make you my Lord ; I make you the Head of me . Help me to live more and more for you , and never quit you ! In Jesus’ Name I pray , Amen !
